Rex begonia seeds need special care when planting them.

Start planting indoors about 8-10 weeks before the average last frost in your area.

Use a finely textured starting mix.

Tap the packet to gently to sprinkle the begonia seeds on the surface of the soil and press them slightly into. Do not cover the seeds, as this may prevent germination. They require light for germination.

Keep the soil moist, but not wet throughout the germination period.

Maintain a temperature of 70°-75° within the growing medium until germination, which takes 15-20 days.

Cover the pot with plastic to help the soil retain moisture.

Wet the soil by spraying to prevent seeds from being washed away.

Keep the seeds in a warm location until germinate, then move them to bright indirect light on a window sill; NO direct sunlight exposure, to prevent from scorching the young leaves.

Transplant the plants when they have at least two true leaves.

Warning

Not all begonia seeds will produce a plant that looks exactly like the parent.

If you use seeds from a hybrid rex begonia, they may produce seedlings that look and behave differently from the original plant.

Propagate hybrid begonias from cuttings to produce a plant that is the same as the parent.

If you don't plant the seeds after receiving, please keep then into refrigerator (0-10 degrees) for storage. Its life is 2 years.
