Dill herb has a distinct taste that many people love, used in many dishes, breads, sauces, dips and spreads. Dill herb is a compact plant, ideal for growing in containers, in the garden, or ideal for windowsills. It will grow about 15 - 20 inches tall.

Sow Dill herb seeds directly outdoors into prepared soil 1/4" deep and 8" apart in rows 18" apart, thinning to 12-15" apart when the seedlings develop. Keep the soil moist, but ensure proper drainage. The germination period lasts approximately 14 to 21 days at an optimal temperature of 64F (20°C). Sow the herb seeds in 3 successive plantings (early spring, June and July) to have a long harvest. Dill plants have a high self-seeding rate if they are left to mature after flowering, but their seeds can be easily collected.
